Dusty Relics In Need of New Life

[ The God Who Makes Us Alive with His Own Life ] God's Message, the God who created the cosmos, stretched out the skies, laid out the earth and all that grows from it, Who breathes life into earth's people, makes them alive with his own life: "I am God. I have called you to live right and well. I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe. I have set you among my people to bind them to me, and provided you as a lighthouse to the nations, To make a start at bringing people into the open, into light: opening blind eyes, releasing prisoners from dungeons, emptying the dark prisons. I am God. That's my name. I don't franchise my glory, don't endorse the no-god idols.

How many of us get comfortable in our religion? We close ourselves off to experiencing a newness in the spirit, due to the fact that we don't particularly care for change. With change comes transformation and with transformation comes a responsibility that we may have to gain a more openness inside of our captivated mind. A captivated mind hinders our ability to process new things. We get so accustomed to the complacency, that we buck anything that even resembles a shift in our paradigm or old way of doing things.

Being comfortable can cause us to become passive and stagnant. Our comfort zone stands as our main focus and when that comfort zone gets pulled and stretched ... it thrusts us in to what our mind calls "the danger zone". We fail to allow our spirit to embrace change, because our flesh is in control. Our flesh lords over our spirit. We've strengthened it and we've given it power and authority to rule! Remember, whatever you feed ... will become strong, whatever you starve ... will become weak.

If you feed your flesh day in and day out ... it will get stronger and stronger. How do we feed our flesh? We feed our flesh through worldly food which includes, but is not limited to ... questionable movies, dark music, peer influences, negative mindsets, gossip, slander, vulgarity, profanity, covetousness, jealousy, anger, rage, unbelief, worldly books or magazines. Just to list a few. This list could go on and on ... but I think you get my drift here? ;)

We have to be careful what we allow to take up residence inside of us. It WILL have an impact on us whether we choose to believe it or not. We are not super human! When we open doors that should be nailed shut and sealed by the Blood ... we risk spiritual contamination. The Bible says we are in the world ... but not OF IT. There's a huge difference there. Stand upon the Rock, that ROCK is Jesus Christ! Infuse your spirit with the Word of God, worship, relationship (not religion), and acknowledge Him in all your ways. The Bible says "whether you eat or drink ... whatever you do ... do all of it to the glory of God!"

Be a role model for others. Jesus was a role model when He walked the earth. He never compromised, He didn't hold unforgiveness in His Heart, He resisted temptation, and He wasn't condemning or jealous of anyone. Yes, He was God ... but He was also man when He walked the earth. He was born in to the world ... not to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved. That's the bottom line ... Salvation and Reconciliation to Father God! Get off that pedestal before you fall. Honor the people around you. We have no right to judge or condemn. Everyone is different, allow the Holy Spirit to blow that dust off of our spirits and be renewed! :)

Abiding Under the Safety of His Wings,
Tracy :)
